Yes,
But you'll need a constant internet connection.
Or, you can try interfacing it to a radio and send APRS over RF.

AFAIR, MicroAPRS have the option to send data as APRS packets.

it would be really a good idea to at least add a GPS to it so that it can become a very portable unit and can be carried for field day exercise. Even ESP32 for that matter will do. Thank you for your reply

Yes!
I built a prototype for ESP8266 w/o GPS but with BME280 which gives temperature, humidity and pressure.
But since the ESP8266 wan't stable enough it didn't make it to be an operational unit.
I hope to make a new one and write about it in the near future.

Hi

I have to do more tests, but I think I sent it to frequently.. more than 10mins between weather data seems to be a requirement to display new values... I'll test it today then let you know.

Hi!
After spending few hours again on APRS (had to refresh my knowledge) I think I came to conclusion that aprs.fi website is the issue here.
If you click on your callsign and go to info, you'll find raw packets tab in the top menu.
Take a look on the packets and you'll see them all. I think aprs.fi is have a limit for updating the temperature and humidity.
I gave a quick look on CWOP stations and it realized they update two times in a minute, and still aprs.fi is not updating the weather info that fast.
If you look closely you'll see that under the callsign there are two lines of date and time.
The first one will update itself everytime you send a packet: 2017-06-04 22:05:49 - 2017-06-04 22:11:16
The second will not, and that one is the weather one: APRS/CWOP weather 2017-06-04 22:05:49
That strengthens what I think about aprs.fi limiting the weather update.

Let me know what you think.
